Citizenship By Investment
Real Estate Investment- Launched on 3rd October 2019 and limited to only 2,000 applications, offers one of the simplest and fastest routes to acquiring an alternative citizenship for investors and their family, in exchange for minimum real estate investment from €250,000 as well as €100,000 government contribution, which makes €350,000 the total capital amount required. Coupled with fast application processing time, it is the most affordable route to obtaining a European passport, providing its holder with visa-free access to over 124 countries in just 3 months. It joined NATO in 2017 and is widely expected to be the next incomer into the EU; 2025 being the latest estimate. GDP per capita is about half of EU average, and has seen Central European-like GDP growth rates in the last few years (2.9% in 2016, 4.7% in 2018, and 4.5% in 2019). Tourism numbers have seen steady growth, but are still predominantly a Serbian and Russian affair even though these demographics are changing fast, with Westerners and Asians growing faster than the average.
Donation- To qualify for the Montenegrin Citizenship, investors are required to make a government contribution of €100,000 to a special fund for the advancement of underdeveloped areas, and to invest in government approved real estate projects in the country to the minimum value of €250,000-€450,000. The minimum property investment threshold depends on the location of the property. Total capital requirements must equate to €350,000 when buying property in an undeveloped region, and to €550,000 in a developed region of Montenegro.
